David + Aubrey

I have had the honor of photographing many weddings this year. With each wedding I’ve learned more about lighting and more about what it takes to set up a timeline and position of wedding events to get the best photos. I can’t wait to continue to develop this skill as I work with families, seniors and couples during the rest of the year. I couldn’t have ended on a happier note with this year’s wedding season. Couples like David and Aubrey are EXACTLY why I enjoy what I do.

David and Aubrey contacted me this summer about the possibility of shooting their wedding in the fall. Fun fact, David actually proposed to Aubrey at the wedding of David’s Brother (Jacob and Mercy) that I shot this spring. We were praying for good weather and we received a gorgeous sunny day. The sunset session with the Bride and Groom? Could we have ordered anything more perfect from the good Lord above? It was WONDERFUL!

They planned their beautiful wedding to be held at the farm of a family friend. This house with a gorgeous big yard in the front for the ceremony and a lake view reception in the back was exactly the venue you look to find for this occasion. The room they had for the bride to get ready in was perfect with floor to ceiling windows that provided the best lighting for getting ready. Down the road just a 1/4 of a mile was a gorgeous wild flower field that wisped in the glowing sun and I thought…. I KNOW we can create some gorgeous portraits at sunset there. A big shout out to Aubrey, “Mom” aka Event coordinator for creating a timeline that worked well with helping us time our bride and groom portraits during golden hour.

As beautiful as the portraits from this wedding day are, nothing compares to the beauty in the hearts of David and Aubrey. I was touched by a personal letter David wrote for Aubrey before the wedding. The love I felt from the bridal party and family towards this couple only confirmed my suspicions that they are as lovely as they are authentic. I teared up when Aubrey’s dad came into the Bridal suite for a first look, and when the siblings of the Bride and Groom gave their heartfelt speeches. I loved seeing David gently take his Bride’s hand as her father gave her away. The look of excitement and joy for the future was radiating from both of their hearts and faces. Aubrey was stress free and low-maintenance (although you would have never guessed by how put together she and the bride tribe were) . Not once did I hear her get irritated or frustrated that something wasn’t going the way she envisioned it. Like I said before, truly, these two were a dream to work with!

It was an absolute honor to capture their day. I’m still in awe of how beautiful it was (PS did you see the bride’s bouquet?) Marty Persinger is a talented lady. The Party Maker out of Clay City did a great job with the decorations, Honeysuckle Hill Bee-stro did the gorgeous cake and yummy desserts, a big thanks to grandpa for the surprise fireworks, to Brittany (Mom) and Kristen for the amazing coordination, Mainstreet Coffee, Zack Hogan for laying down all those cool beats, and all the other family and friends who put flower arrangements, served food…. Oh and I Forgot to mention…. Pay attention to the wedding arch. Our groom put that together and created a burn finish for the special day! Can you even handle it??? Enjoy the many favorites I want to share with you from the day!!!
